About the role
- Manage the Finance Department and assume CFO responsibilities in their absence
- Make and approve HR decisions for department employees, assign work, provide training, and resolve personnel issues
- Coordinate department activities with other bank departments and third-party vendors
- Review, supervise and prepare financial reports; research, organize, and analyze financial data and accounting issues
- Oversee month-end closing process and all Board financial reports
- Analyze financial data to provide reporting and strategic recommendations to senior management
- Responsible for Allowance for Credit Loss calculation, policy and procedures
- Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring GAAP and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate and oversee preparation and submission of quarterly Call Report, Y-9, FR2900, and other regulatory reports
- Responsible for federal and state tax payments and coordinate annual tax filings with external accountants
- Assist with preparation and coordination of the budget process and monitor budgets
- Review profitability of profit and cost centers for bank and subsidiaries
- Maintain FDICIA Controls and COSO internal control framework compliance
- Coordinate internal audit and regulatory exam requests related to Finance; respond to inquiries
- Coordinate year-end audit with external auditors and prepare annual audited financial statements
- Assist CFO on asset/liability interest rate risk and cash management; approve outgoing wires and review daily cash position
- Serve on ALCO and various subcommittees and oversee lease accounting and software
- Participate in Loan Review Committee for watch list, classified loans, OREO, and allowance adequacy
- Pursue technological improvements for month-end closing, finance tasks and purchasing processes

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Extensive banking and accounting experience
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP
- Master’s degree and/or CPA designation is a plus
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, computer, management, leadership, and communication skills
- Experience with regulatory reporting (Call Report, Y-9, FR2900) and federal/state tax coordination
- Experience with Allowance for Credit Loss calculation, policy and procedures
- Experience coordinating audits and preparing audited financial statements
