About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, and maintain batch processing solutions using Java 25 and Spring Batch, taking end-to-end ownership from design through production
  • Develop scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software following modern engineering practices
  • Design and optimize SQL queries for large datasets and complex business logic
  • Analyze and improve PostgreSQL query performance using execution plans, indexing strategies, and database tuning techniques
  • Collaborate with product owners and domain experts to implement complex supply chain planning algorithms
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit
  • Contribute to CI/CD automation and cloud-native deployment pipelines
  • Support, monitor, and troubleshoot production systems, owning issues through to resolution
  • Work effectively with teammates across multiple time zones and geographic regions
  • Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools, agents, and workflows to improve development productivity while maintaining high standards of code quality.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of professional Java software development experience
  • Strong experience developing applications with Java 17+
  • Experience building batch processing applications using Spring Batch
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex query development and performance optimization
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL
  • Experience writing automated tests with JUnit
  • Familiarity with source control and collaborative development using Git
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems, with a strong sense of ownership over the code you ship
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to clearly document designs, communicate complex technical concepts, and collaborate effectively with engineers across geographically distributed teams.
