About the role

  • Represent Baxter and its surgical portfolio to healthcare professionals in an assigned territory
  • Build relationships and establish trust with surgeons, nurses, and operating room staff
  • Support and promote Surgical Portfolio to meet customers’ clinical and economic needs
  • Engage install base and follow up with existing customers for incremental purchases and support
  • Independently formulate and implement selling strategies for products of intermediate complexity by phone and on site
  • Communicate competitive differentiation to assist customers in product selection
  • Schedule and complete customer sales calls and follow up on opportunities to develop the business
  • Conduct extensive prospecting, lead generation, and lead follow-up; assist with product demonstrations as requested
  • Ensure clinical adoption through product trialing, demonstrations, and in-servicing
  • Support site visits, product fairs, and mock rooms as necessary
  • Record activities and contacts within Salesforce.com and maintain current detailed information
  • Field-based role aligned to a region in Baxter’s Surgical Business unit, working with Sales Consultants to achieve targets
  • Travel up to 75% within the assigned territory covering Georgia and Alabama

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2+ years’ experience or a minimum 2 years’ experience in an inside or field sales role in the healthcare or similar industry preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Medical device experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of clinical workflow/clinical language and hospital environment a plus
  • Computer literate with strong understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Salesforce knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent formal presentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexible, autonomous, and ability to collaborate with multiple team members
  • Must be willing/able to travel at least 50-75% (may involve remote or urban areas)
  • Individuals must live within the current geography or be willing to relocate to it (Atlanta, Georgia area)
