About the role

  • Crafting and completing manual test activities for key applications and hardware within R&D
  • Assist with test case creation, defect tracking, relevant test data creation, and test execution
  • Work with R&D teams to develop and maintain appropriate test case coverage
  • Write manual tests including key transaction verifications and objective evidence capture requirements
  • Identify and/or create data to support tests and build relevant positive, negative, and end to end tests
  • Analyze results to assist in root cause analysis of related defects
  • Identify technical problems, provide innovative solutions and share technical knowledge with team
  • Incorporate business, market, industry and competitive knowledge into technical solutions
  • Generate alternatives and take reasonable risks while solving technical problems
  • Complete detailed, high quality technical documentation to capture and communicate designs
  • Use existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics
  • Challenge project teams and established work processes and proactively find creative methods to reach desired performance levels
  • Inform others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work and commitments
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science preferred
  • 3 years of experience in software quality assurance or quality engineering
  • Experience with test repositories such as Jama, Jira, ALM
  • Ability to generate alternative solutions to problems or processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Experience crafting and executing manual tests, defect tracking, and test data creation
  • Ability to write manual tests including key transaction verifications and objective evidence capture
  • Ability to identify/create data to support tests and build positive, negative, and end-to-end tests
  • Ability to analyze results and assist in root cause analysis of defects
