About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You'll own the technical solution design for portfolio and operational systems (target-state architecture, data models, API specifications, and integration patterns) while translating complex requirements into precise specifications.
Maintain full visibility of technical debt, drive root-cause analysis on complex issues, and proactively identify opportunities to standardise, consolidate, or retire systems.
Define non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria for external development partners, rigorously reviewing and challenging their technical designs and outputs before release.
Articulate complex architectural constraints, trade-offs, and risks to both business and technology stakeholders clearly and without unnecessary jargon.
Balance delivery pace with architectural coherence, safeguarding data quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Maintain impeccable technical documentation (architecture diagrams, integration maps, data dictionaries) to seamlessly support our future transition to an in-house development capability.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A wealth of experience in solution architecture, technical design, or senior technical specialist roles, with a strong background in SaaS platforms and enterprise system integration.
Deep technical expertise designing API-driven architectures, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), SaaS integration patterns, and modern data flows (REST, event-driven, ETL/ELT).
Proven experience in a technical oversight capacity—enforcing technical standards, reviewing code/designs, and holding external vendors accountable.
Ability to define and defend non-functional requirements, including security protocols, data encryption, performance benchmarks, scalability, and GDPR compliance.
