About the role
- Provide accurate, timely HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on policies, procedures and employment law, building strong and trusted relationships across the University.
- Lead on straightforward employee relations casework and support more complex cases through effective documentation and meeting coordination.
- Help managers to manage sickness absence, including occupational health referrals, and take the lead on job evaluations and reviewing job descriptions.
- Contribute to University-wide HR initiatives such as wellbeing, reward, benefits and staff surveys, as well as designing and delivering training sessions to strengthen people management capability.
- Review HR reports to identify trends and take proactive action where needed, working closely with Payroll to resolve any pay issues efficiently.
- Conduct exit interviews, support process improvements, and help ensure that our HR service is efficient, inclusive and aligned with the University’s strategic aims.
- Occasional travel to London may be required for this role.
Requirements
- Previous relevant experience
- Associate CIPD
- Good working knowledge of employment Law
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Good attention to detail
- High level of written communication
