About the role

  • Architect, develop, and execute on the technology roadmap, transitioning prototypes to scalable production backend services
  • Support the technical vision and execution of the company and collaborate with a high-performing engineering team
  • Construct and scale tech infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement solutions aligned with company strategy
  • Integrate with web3 technologies and protocols with emphasis on secure connections and data flow
  • Deliver technology solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations and drive company growth
  • Continuously stay updated with backend and web3 trends to keep Bastion at the forefront
  • Establish a scalable tech architecture that supports current needs and adapts to future demands

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Startup experience a plus
  • Expertise in core backend technologies, including relevant languages (Go/Rust), databases, and cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with Go and Rust is a bonus but not mandatory
  • Significant open-source contributions
  • Mastery in designing resilient systems and APIs from scratch
  • Optional but encouraged: achievements in programming contests (e.g., ACM-ICPC, topcoder) or Capture-the-Flag events (e.g., CSAW, DEFCON)
  • Authorized to work in the United States / employer participates in E-Verify
  • Willingness to commute to NYC 2-3 days per week if required (role may be based out of NYC)
