Counsel, Legal & Compliance
BASFLegal and Compliance Counsel providing legal and compliance services for BASF businesses in EMEA region. Collaborating on high-complexity contractual setups and conducting compliance reviews.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support BASF businesses across the EMEA Region in legal and compliance matters
- Provide legal and compliance services related to local or international inquiries
- Review, draft, redline or comment on and negotiate legal inquiries
- Interact with internal clients and external counterparties
- Assist the business in selecting appropriate contractual setups
- Contribute to the maintenance of playbooks, templates and clauses
- Provide support in legal research and compliance reviews
- Assist with translations, presentations, and trend reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in law (minimum Bachelor of Law)
- Fluent working skills in English; fluency in another European language is a strong plus
- Several years of professional experience in the legal and compliance sector
- Strong expertise in contract drafting, reviewing and negotiation
- User knowledge of legal databases and standard IT applications
- Good communication skills to maintain constant contact with clients and stakeholders
- Confident stakeholder management in an international environment
