About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the daily operation of BASF coatings products in customer automotive assembly plants by providing on-site technical and application oversight.
  • Respond to customer requirements, enforce product quality/performance specification, and support new product/application development.
  • Oversee product performance including color management, defect identification, process root causing and corrective actions implementation.
  • Develop and support key customer relationships.
  • Support the efforts of a BASF sales/technical team to assure value to the customer for product technical support, problem investigation, analysis, and resolution.
  • Assure product performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and supports business growth objectives to be our customer’s supplier of choice.
  • Control key performance indicators within product service environments to drive problem resolution and product improvement initiatives critical to customer performance expectations.
  • Use ability to train and mentor members of the team to ensure the customer is receiving the best possible service.
  • 15% domestic travel required.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related
  • Five (5) years of experience in OEM Paint Application
  • All phases of the automotive paint application process, including quality, customer focus, and manufacturing
  • Providing on-site expertise in coatings products, their application, performance, and problem resolution as needed
  • Implementing action plans; tracking and updating customer metrics; and managing future plant production and new product introductions
  • Inventory, forecasting, billing, and ordering management for a CPU (cost per unit) business model
