About the role
- Conducting experiments to characterize the biological performance of small molecules against insects across matrices (plants, soil, seeds, etc.) following established protocols and experimental designs
- Preparing formal written research reports and presentations that summarize methods, results, and interpretations for project teams and stakeholders
- Establishing, maintaining, and managing laboratory and field trial workflows from experiment setup through data collection, analysis, and sample handling
- Collaborating with R&D teams and external partners, coordinating activities, sharing findings, and integrating results into broader project plans
- Proposing and implementing optimizations to protocols and assays to improve efficiency, reduce data turnaround time, and increase safety and reproducibility
- Maintaining rigorous data quality and documentation to support decision-making and next-step project progression
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and risk controls, completing required training, and applying process-safety knowledge for handling hazardous materials and routine operations
- Communicating results clearly and promptly, both verbally and in writing, to project managers and cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Hold a BS or MS in Toxicology, Biology, Entomology, Crop Protection, or a closely related discipline and 1-3 years' experience.
- Have experience characterizing the biological performance of small molecules against insects across matrices (plants, soil, seeds, etc.) and preparing formal research reports and presentations (highly desirable)
- Can reliably follow protocols and implement experimental designs with minimal supervision
- Take initiative to optimize protocols, develop more efficient assays, and shorten data-analysis timelines while preserving data quality and safety
- Apply strong scientific rigor, attention to detail, and a systematic experimental approach to generate high-quality, reproducible data
- Work effectively as a collaborator and team player, interfacing with multiple R&D groups
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and clear verbal and written communication to convey results across project teams
- Show a firm commitment to workplace safety, including basic process-safety knowledge (hazard categories, potential risks) and the ability to identify and assess risks in everyday operations.
