About the role

  • Evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting global and local quality data to manage risks associated with the sale of seed lots
  • Analyzing relevant quality data to approve proposed seed lot blends
  • Providing advice on payment of seed lots to production after quality evaluation to facilitate timely and equitable grower payments
  • Analyzing sales feedback on field performance of seed in relation to quality parameters
  • Understanding customer needs through market and field visits and stakeholder interactions
  • Coordinating the customer complaint handling process for assigned crops to ensure proper investigation and communication
  • Reporting monthly to the Regional Head of QA on ongoing crop issues and concerns
  • Participating in internal process and hygiene audits for processing and production operations
  • Reviewing documents annually and requesting amendments for changed processes
  • Maintaining stewardship requirements for stock seeds and third-party purchases
  • Communicating potential risks associated with sale of seed lots to supply chain specialists and crop sales managers to minimize liability
  • Selecting third-party QC test companies and communicating Nunhems USA, Inc. priorities to ensure timely availability of outsourced test results
  • Ensuring resampling of required lots is completed promptly to provide reliable quality data for lot release and availability reviews

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a closely related field
  • Bring at least five years of experience in the seed industry, with specific experience in seed quality assurance
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of seed health, seed physiology, and production and operational techniques used in the industry
  • Show proven people-management skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Apply strong analytical skills to interpret quality data and support sound decision-making
  • Take a proactive approach to decision-making and problem resolution
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing; English proficiency is required
  • Show competency in analyzing, delivering performance, and organizing work and resources
  • Are willing and able to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally as needed
