About the role

  • You will contribute to the preparation of the BASF Group's annual, quarterly and monthly financial statements, as well as the related internal and external reporting.
  • You will independently handle IFRS accounting issues and act as the central contact for related inquiries, particularly from our subsidiaries.
  • You will be responsible for preparing the relevant notes to the financial statements.
  • You will carry out in-depth analyses and professional assessments of accounting matters and actively contribute to the conceptual development of accounting policies, for example in response to changes in IFRS.
  • You will support reporting quality and collaborate with global stakeholders in this context.
  • As part of cross-unit projects with other BASF divisions, you will identify and address accounting aspects.
  • You will support the implementation of digitalisation initiatives in management and financial reporting through innovative approaches and methods.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Business Administration (Bachelor's or Master's), preferably with a focus on financial accounting or auditing.
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of international financial reporting under IFRS and a strong interest in regulatory developments in the IFRS environment, which you follow closely.
  • Relevant professional experience; preparation for a professional certification or experience in academia is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills which you apply in a goal-oriented, solution-focused manner.
  • Proficient in common IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills in German and English, enabling you to present the results of your analyses convincingly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ideally, initial experience working with international companies and interdisciplinary teams.
