About the role

  • You drive the innovation and application of artificial intelligence at the Ludwigshafen site and are responsible for the development and implementation of suitable AI solutions.
  • Together with an interdisciplinary team, you identify AI potentials and initiate innovation projects to promote digitization and AI integration.
  • You develop prototypes and validate the feasibility of ideas and AI approaches, and subsequently take responsibility for project implementation.
  • You also ensure the further development of methods and tools and establish best practices in the field of AI.
  • You propose newly developed, scalable AI technologies for site services and production in the plant.
  • In addition, you ensure compliance with objectives for scope, budget and quality through professional project management.
  • As an AI expert, you support our internal customers on their path to greater AI integration and assist in selecting appropriate AI solutions.
  • You participate in regional and global knowledge exchange with AI experts.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, Computational Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
  • Strong Python skills with demonstrable experience in AI/ML projects and digitization initiatives; specific experience in generative AI is required.
  • Broad technical understanding across various AI application areas, combined with the ability to develop practical, application-oriented solutions.
  • Continuous willingness to learn and a proactive approach to following current developments in artificial intelligence.
  • High degree of integrating AI solutions to optimize your own daily work.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and to enthuse teams about innovative technologies.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
