About the role

  • Leading a team of Technical Marketing Managers responsible for the technical positioning, support, and success of assigned crop protection products; providing coaching, direction and career development to individual contributors.
  • Ensuring clear, consistent communication with stakeholders in Marketing, Sales, Biology, Regulatory Sciences, Digital Services, Formulations, and Operations.
  • Translating portfolio and product attributes into a coordinated, actionable plan.
  • Guiding current and future innovation efforts and ensuring technical positioning is scientifically sound and aligned with business objectives.
  • Serving as a technical resource for new BASF products prior to commercialization.
  • Building and maintaining leadership relationships with distribution partners to steward BASF technology and support sales.
  • Developing annual budgets and resource plans for Tech Service research and demonstration trials to ensure adequate product testing before launch.
  • Supporting product claims and complaint resolution processes.
  • Ensuring communication occurs between Tech Marketing Managers and field Tech Service reps so that we “are one face to the field”.

Requirements

  • Hold a M.S. or Ph.D. in a technical related field relevant to crop production.
  • Have 13+ years of experience in agribusiness or a related field (e.g., farming, retailing, agricultural R&D).
  • Demonstrate experience in managing long-term projects (~3 years).
  • Have proven ability to influence and work across multiple levels, both internally and externally.
  • Are able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Have prior technical role with sales and/or marketing experience. (Preferred)
