About the role
- Support BASF group companies to meet all legal and regulatory requirements related to trade compliance.
- Protect BASF’s license to operate by ensuring adherence to Import and export control, domestic regulations, sanctions, and screening obligations.
- Execute trade compliance related activities for BASF companies to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate, analyze and verify trade compliance regulatory data and documentation to support system accuracy, database integrity, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Ensure that BASF’s trade compliance processes and standards are effectively applied across Asia Pacific, covering import, export, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange on best practices sharing and training.
- Act as focal point to support internal and external audits, including conducting Quality Checks.
- Ensure timely review, update and continuous improvement of work documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Law, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in regulatory or compliance functions, product safety & stewardship, supply chain /order management operations, or procurement activities within a multinational environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory controls, import/export requirements, license/permit management, and trade compliance procedures and standards in Asia Pacific countries.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel /Power Point essential).
- Experience with SAP systems in supporting compliance or logistics processes.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Chinese or German is an asset.
- Experience with digital tools and automation technologies (e.g., Robotic Process Automation, Power BI) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
