About the role
- Providing expert technical support and troubleshooting for E&I Technicians, ensuring the effective maintenance of electrical and automation systems such as PLCs, VFDs, MMIs, service panels, MCCs, sensors/instruments, valves/motors, and Wonderware System Platform applications.
- Offering engineering leadership and expertise for low, medium, and high voltage hardware and distribution systems, with a focus on maintenance, reliability, electrical safety, and explosion protection.
- Leading incident investigations for downtime and quality deviations, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintaining the accuracy and quality of key documentation for electrical systems and process controls, while overseeing installations and verifying compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and BASF standards.
- Conducting and overseeing preventive maintenance activities on electrical and automation equipment, ensuring all systems operate at peak performance.
- Developing and implementing project descriptions, plans, timelines, resource requirements, and cost estimates, while interfacing with vendors, developing bid specifications, participating in design reviews, and conducting factory acceptance testing.
- Sharing expertise and providing training to enhance the competencies of fellow A&D team members.
- Adhering to strict site security protocols for precious metals, including controlled access, inventory management, audit trails, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards for handling, storage, and transfer.
- Implementing robust safety measures for hazardous chemical processes and precious metals, and maintaining awareness of environmental regulations and best practices for waste management, recycling, and spill response.
- Monitoring and controlling automation systems to prevent cross-contamination, supporting traceability and documentation for precious metal transactions, and collaborating with finance and supply chain to optimize usage and minimize losses.
Requirements
- Have an Associate's Degree, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Automation.
- Hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Possess demonstrated expertise in PLCs, ladder logic, and programming.
- Have strong problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Possess leadership experience or the ability to lead, preferred but not required – this position will coordinate and supervise 4 indirect reports.
