About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the electrical group, working as part of multidisciplinary project teams to provide electrical engineering and related technical expertise
  • Integrate process, mechanical, and control requirements into comprehensive electrical systems
  • Manage projects, coach and mentor less-experienced staff, provide technical leadership, manage teams to meet clients' needs, and conduct business development activities
  • Prepare plans and specifications, write reports, develop cost estimations, and design power and controls from the ground up
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing projects, ensuring project milestones are met and providing regular updates to team members and clients
  • Support the growth and development of team members while collaborating across disciplines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • at least 5 years of related experience working in a design capacity on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain within one year
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr Engineering, now or in the future
