About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and lead multidisciplinary teams; manage scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff as part of project execution.
- Lead and provide technical oversight for complex geoenvironmental engineering projects.
- Apply deep expertise in tailings management, sediment transport, and solid-water interactions.
- Design and execute field investigation programs and develop technically sound analyses and designs.
- Support and contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities.
- Evaluate site conditions, large and varied data sets, and evolving regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
- Develop high-quality technical deliverables and clear, concise reports.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, regulatory personnel, and internal teams.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in mining, geological, geotechnical, environmental, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Professionally certified (P.Eng.) in Alberta or the ability to be certified within one year.
- Strong computer skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship from Barr Ltd., now or in the future.
