About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support power delivery team, working with multidisciplinary project teams providing electrical engineering and related technical expertise
  • Manage projects, coaching and mentoring less-experienced staff, providing technical leadership
  • Prepare designs for DC and AC collection systems and power plant controllers
  • Focus on design and analysis including preparing plans and specifications, writing reports, and developing cost estimations
  • Proposal development including defining work scopes, deliverables, schedules, and budget
  • Ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients
  • Support the growth and development of team members
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients and internal teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • At least 10 years of related experience working in a design capacity on projects directly related to job responsibilities
  • Knowledge and experience with solar DC and AC solar collection system design
  • Experience with power plant controllers
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, laws, and regulations applicable to the project assignments
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
  • Possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
