About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • CAD and design support: Provide computer-aided drafting and design support for civil engineering projects
  • Process survey data and incorporate it into project designs
  • Perform grading design and generate 3D design surfaces
  • Develop and manage project CAD file structures, base files, and planimetrics
  • Prepare construction drawings and develop renderings
  • Develop material quantity take-offs from construction drawings
  • Work with engineers to design earthwork and utility projects
  • Assist with specification preparation and technical documentation
  • Prepare reports and supporting project deliverables
  • Assist with construction observation, administration, and monitoring
  • Participate in out-of-town assignments and field work as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education: Two-year technical or engineering certificate/degree, or equivalent experience and/or coursework directly related to the role
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience performing related work in an engineering or industrial environment
  • Software: Familiarity with civil CADD design platform: Autodesk, Civil 3D
  • Driver’s license: possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
