About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • support the Assessment and Remediation business unit
  • managing multidisciplinary teams
  • preparing technical work plans and reports
  • coordinating ASTM Phase I environmental site assessments
  • investigating contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, and vapor intrusion
  • conducting remediation technology evaluations and feasibility studies
  • developing site management strategies
  • coordinating site remediation activities
  • preparing cost estimates and contracting for investigation activities
  • developing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets
  • conducting communications, meetings, and negotiations with clients and regulatory agency personnel
  • providing overall project management
  • mentoring junior staff
  • interacting with clients to identify and develop new project opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, geological, or chemical engineering or a related discipline
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to become registered within one year
  • strong computer skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
