About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work on a diverse range of projects related to hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, civil engineering, water resources planning and design, and related technical tasks
- Assignments may include stormwater management planning, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, open channel and pipe flow analysis and design, and the design of water control and stormwater treatment structures
- Field assignments may include construction observation, stormwater infrastructure assessment, collection of hydrologic and water-quality data, and materials testing
- Prepare plans and specifications, coordinating with permitting agencies and public officials, GIS and CADD tasks, report writing, and spreadsheet development
- Participate in site visits and inspections to observe construction activities and best ensure compliance with design intent
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering degree with an emphasis on water resources
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, open channel and pipe flow, lake and stream water-quality issues, and earthwork and grading plans
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, CADD, or GIS software
- Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
