Key responsibilities & impact

undertake challenging work on projects related to hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, civil engineering, and related technical activities
additional responsibilities may include field assignments such as construction observation, surveying, and collecting hydrologic measurements
short-term, out-of-town assignments may be involved
demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite applications
strong written and oral presentation skills
ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team
flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
technical analysis: stormwater planning and hydrologic runoff analysis
modeling support: experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; familiarity with modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PC SWMM
design support: open channel and pipe flow design, water control and stormwater treatment structure design, completion of plans and specifications

Requirements

What you’ll need

bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering degree with an emphasis on water resources
minimum of 3 years of experience in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering
experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, CADD, or GIS software
possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
