About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- undertake challenging work on projects related to hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, civil engineering, and related technical activities
- additional responsibilities may include field assignments such as construction observation, surveying, and collecting hydrologic measurements
- short-term, out-of-town assignments may be involved
- demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite applications
- strong written and oral presentation skills
- ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team
- flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- technical analysis: stormwater planning and hydrologic runoff analysis
- modeling support: experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; familiarity with modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PC SWMM
- design support: open channel and pipe flow design, water control and stormwater treatment structure design, completion of plans and specifications
Requirements
What you’ll need- bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering degree with an emphasis on water resources
- minimum of 3 years of experience in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering
- experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, CADD, or GIS software
- possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
