About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide comprehensive nutrition assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams
Deliver evidence-based nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, staff, and healthcare professionals
Guide members in creating SMART goals through telephonic and video visits
Independently manage workload and complex patient caseloads
Coordinate referrals and consultations from multiple sources
Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, exercise physiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Develop and manage nutrition care plans, including enteral and parenteral nutrition support
Write nutrition orders where permitted by state regulations
Monitor member and patient progress, evaluate care plan effectiveness, and support goal achievement
Document nutrition information in medical records, care plans, and clinical pathways in compliance with regulatory requirements
Develop nutrition standards of practice, educational materials, and in-service programs
Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring, and liaison support to nutrition services and nursing staff
Participate in process improvement, continuous quality improvement activities, and outcome studies
Contribute to special projects, program initiatives, community education, and policy development
Potentially recruit, train, evaluate, and manage assigned staff

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Dietitian
Strong background in inpatient and outpatient, clinic, or wellness settings
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework
Must be a Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible based on academic and professional requirements defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Must possess RD credentials within 6 months of hire
Must hold current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Must maintain ongoing registration and verify registration annually
Maintain current licensure as required by State law
Ability to communicate effectively and function independently
Ability to prioritize assigned patient caseload
Employees in specified behavioral health clinical settings serving children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it throughout employment
An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire for specified behavioral health clinical settings
