About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, edit, and approve written content across websites, blogs, email campaigns, video scripts, social media, print, paid media, podcasts, landing pages, and other marketing materials
- Adapt writing style, voice, and tone for different audiences, channels, and formats while maintaining Banner Health brand standards
- Ensure copy meets content briefs, strategic requirements, audience needs, and business goals
- Fact-check health-related content with physician leaders, clinical SMEs, and stakeholders
- Translate complex medical and clinical information into clear, accessible consumer language
- Incorporate SEO/AEO/GEO best practices, target keywords, meta descriptions, headers, and search optimization guidelines
- Ensure content follows brand standards, style guides, governance frameworks, and healthcare marketing regulations including HIPAA, FDA, and FTC requirements
- Partner with Brand creative teams on integrated written, visual, and multimedia content
- Manage multiple editing assignments, deadlines, priorities, review cycles, and stakeholder communications
- Apply editorial feedback and performance insights to improve content
- Support Content Engine workflows, production timelines, process improvements, and content governance updates
- Manage content requests and production workflows through Adobe Workfront
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- 7+ years of professional writing or editing experience in marketing, content marketing, publishing, or related field
- Portfolio demonstrating versatility across web, email, social media, long-form articles, scripts, and other content types
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong command of grammar, style, and AP/Chicago style guidelines
- Ability to adapt voice, tone, and style for different audiences, channels, and content formats
- Experience writing for consumer audiences and translating complex information into clear, accessible language
- Strong research skills and ability to quickly learn and write about new topics
- Knowledge of SEO/AEO/GEO content best practices
- Experience working with subject matter experts and incorporating technical or clinical feedback
- Ability to manage multiple writing projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in a matrixed team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Comfort learning content management, project management, and collaboration tools, including Workfront
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
- Preferred: healthcare or regulated industry experience; health or medical consumer content experience; HIPAA, FDA, and FTC compliance knowledge; CMS, DAM, and agile content production familiarity; content performance metrics; multimedia scriptwriting; agency experience; relevant certifications
