About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with prescribed endoscopic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols
Prepare cases and pull appropriate instruments and supplies
Maintain accurate information on preference cards
Review cases for procedural needs and ensure diagnostic and therapeutic devices are available
Assist in performing endoscopic procedures and anticipate changing needs
Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions
Dispose of sharps and trash
Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store scopes and reusable devices
Return unused supplies appropriately
Set up diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
Position equipment and patients in procedure rooms
Clean and stock procedure rooms and carts
Assist with clerical duties as needed
Work under direct supervision and follow pre-established procedures and protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
Current BLS certification required
Clinical knowledge normally associated with 1–2 years of previous experience in a health care setting
Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills
Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment required
Completion of post-offer drug screen required
Completion of post-offer background check, including employment, criminal, and education checks, required
Certification preferred
Additional related education and/or experience preferred
