About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with prescribed endoscopic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols
- Prepare cases and pull appropriate instruments and supplies
- Maintain accurate information on preference cards
- Review cases for procedural needs and ensure diagnostic and therapeutic devices are available
- Assist in performing endoscopic procedures and anticipate changing needs
- Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions
- Dispose of sharps and trash
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store scopes and reusable devices
- Return unused supplies appropriately
- Set up diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
- Position equipment and patients in procedure rooms
- Clean and stock procedure rooms and carts
- Assist with clerical duties as needed
- Work under direct supervision and follow pre-established procedures and protocols
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Current BLS certification required
- Clinical knowledge normally associated with 1–2 years of previous experience in a health care setting
- Effective organizational, communication, and human relations skills
- Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment required
- Completion of post-offer drug screen required
- Completion of post-offer background check, including employment, criminal, and education checks, required
- Certification preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
