About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the digestive health service line across two locations, soon expanding to three
  • Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the assigned department
  • Supervise non-physician staff and monitor productivity
  • Select, train, coach, motivate, evaluate, and direct staff workflow
  • Schedule staff and deploy them appropriately among offices
  • Oversee reception, scheduling, patient services, accounting, medical records, transcription, business information systems, and clinical functions
  • Liaise between non-physician staff and physicians to ensure effective patient service
  • Maintain office policies and procedures in accordance with physician, facility, system, professional, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate facility maintenance, equipment needs, repairs, resources, stocking, and supplies
  • Cover front- and/or back-office functions and potentially administer medications within established policies and scope of practice
  • Provide autonomous guidance based on daily practice workflow to ensure quality patient experiences and efficient operations
  • Navigate referral and authorization processes and multiple computer programs while handling competing demands

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Front office experience required
  • Previous direct supervision of hourly employees required
  • Associate’s Degree-level literacy, communication, and math skills required
  • At least two years of experience in a physician's office or medical environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Certain assignments may require current Medical Assistant certification, Nursing Assistant certification, or current LPN license
  • Employees in specified behavioral health clinical settings serving children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain it during employment
  • An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in a leadership or coordinator capacity preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
