About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer athletic training services in community or clinic settings under the supervision of a supervising physician
- Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice
- Re-evaluate treatment plans to ensure maximum patient benefit
- Implement individualized therapeutic interventions and monitor client responses for safety
- Report progress and medical changes to referring physicians or appropriate medical providers
- Educate clients, families, and coaches about injuries, risk factor modification, and exercise programs
- Conduct injury screening clinics, educational programs, and workshops promoting safety and injury prevention
- Document patient treatment according to professional and regulatory standards
- Attend practices, games, and community athletic events
- Assist providers with home exercise plans, imaging, continued care, and case management of injured athletes/clients undergoing rehabilitation
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, nursing staff, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited university training program
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer certification
- Valid athletic trainer license issued in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Strong interpersonal communication and human relation skills
- Ability to provide services within the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies defined by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the State’s Board of Athletic Training
