About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform maintenance activities across electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, refrigeration, and general maintenance functions
  • Respond to maintenance requests, determine priorities, and take required action
  • Operate and maintain equipment and related services; conduct building inspections
  • Follow OSHA building safety guidelines and keep work areas clean and safe
  • Maintain computerized temperature controls and adjust building temperatures as needed
  • Maintain supplies inventory and administer building key-control processes
  • Coordinate maintenance of security access systems, card readers, gate arms, and cameras with Security
  • Oversee facility projects and direct internal and external customers to ensure completion
  • Review and maintain maintenance documentation and building as-builts
  • Provide operation and maintenance services as the facility's single maintenance responder
  • Determine whether work is performed in-house or requires contract services
  • Coordinate coverage during absences and cross-train as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge of small project managing skills
  • Four or more years of diversified work experience as a maintenance technician with demonstrated maintenance or related skills
  • Ability to exercise independent decision making and judgment
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with maintenance equipment
  • Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) certification required depending on assignment
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding maintenance and construction documents
  • Working knowledge and certification, as required, of applicable regulatory codes and state/local building codes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with common office software programs
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy may be required depending on assignment
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required at time of hire for employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital
  • Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire for employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital
  • Journeyman-level tradesman preferred
  • Previous construction experience preferred
  • Three to five years of previous healthcare Facilities Services experience preferred
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
  • Must work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with after-hours and weekend work as necessary
