About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develops, implements, maintains, and enforces complex and/or multiple aspects of Banner Health’s Corporate Compliance Program
  • Promotes compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA requirements
  • Serves as a strategic leader and subject matter expert
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates with internal stakeholders
  • Designs and conducts routine and ad hoc auditing and monitoring activities
  • Creates and monitors ethical and compliance standards expected of employees
  • Identifies need to create and execute training and education programs
  • Provides regular reports to leadership and compliance committees
  • Investigates and responds to compliance concerns, questions, and complaints
  • Maintains awareness of applicable laws, regulations, and enforcement actions
  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or other relevant field
  • Seven years of experience in healthcare compliance or operations
  • Minimum of three years management level experience within a healthcare system setting or large multi-operational, complex corporate environment
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to healthcare, regulatory compliance, Medicare/Medicaid, and HIPAA
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with executives, management teams, physicians, and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent problem-solving and planning skills
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant applications
