About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently performs echocardiograms on pediatric and adult patients with complex congenital heart disease
  • Records, interrogates, quantifies, and measures presence of normal and abnormal anatomy or physiology
  • Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with patient information for timely interpretation
  • Performs procedures following referring providers’ orders
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement processes
  • Mentors or precepts other sonographers, students, or trainees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required national certification from ARDMS or CCI
  • Preferred certifications from RVT for Vascular, RCS for echo
  • 3 years of pediatric echocardiography experience or equivalent combining adult/pediatric echo center
  • BLS certification required
  • Pediatric certification is required
  • Effective communication skills and human relations skills
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems
