About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the coordination of bed placement and movement of patients throughout Banner acute care facilities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to secure bed assignments for patients coming from the Emergency Department, transfers from other facilities & from home.
- Serve as a liaison between both internal and external customers.
- Manage daily throughput and support surge management as needed.
- Respond to electronic orders for patient’s placement within the hospital timely and correctly.
- Gather and verify patient information for accurate assignments.
- Compile and distribute reports necessary for patient throughput management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare office or hospital operations setting, and/or educational background.
- Skills in medical terminology gained by either college credits or experience in a health care setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work under tight time constraints and meet deadlines while working on various projects under high demands.
- Proficiency with commonly used office software and equipment including but not limited to all Microsoft applications, hospital EMR and bed placement software.
