About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyzes, designs, and implements efficient system of processing emergency department Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) coding and billing
Serves as subject matter expert in emergency medicine coding and billing
Manages quality assurance efforts to ensure accuracy and compliance
Acts as liaison between emergency department and coding group leadership
Develops educational sessions for compliance documentation and coding
Produces regular reports with analysis of coding queues
Acts as a knowledge resource for billing code issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
Specialized training equivalent to two year certification course in medical record keeping principles and practices
Elevated level of knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding principles
Three or more years of specialized professional coding experience
Must achieve acceptable accuracy rate on coding test
Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high quality performance
Excellent critical thinking and organization skills
Attention to detail
Must be proficient with common office software, coding software, and abstracting systems.
