About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, configuration, implementation, tuning, and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions
  • Resolve technical and business issues related to threat and vulnerability management, identity management, security operations, forensics, and data protection
  • Work with Cybersecurity Architects to execute strategic cyber initiatives
  • Evaluate security components of networks, applications, and end-user devices
  • Ensure new systems meet regulatory and technical standards
  • Lead root-cause analysis of cybersecurity systems and identify improvement opportunities
  • Integrate cyber products with applications, networks, end-user devices, and servers
  • Design and implement cybersecurity solutions, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Provide technical expertise and operational support for cybersecurity solutions
  • Develop and maintain secure baseline configurations
  • Conduct technical assessments for policy, standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Author and revise cybersecurity standards, policies, and procedures
  • Lead cybersecurity projects, including scope, requirements, budgeting, work breakdown, and operational handoff
  • Identify threats, develop defense measures, evaluate system changes, and recommend security enhancements
  • Research and draft cybersecurity white papers
  • Support cybersecurity operations staff in resolving complex issues
  • Lead work across cyber resources and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams
  • Mentor less experienced team members
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours incident response

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent
  • Seven plus years of enterprise-scale information security engineering experience
  • Three plus years of experience in a healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business, and healthcare experience
  • Experience with IT operations, security-process automation, coding, and scripting languages
  • Ability to document security processes and develop use cases
  • Experience assessing cyber products, selecting vendors, defining requirements, and developing contractual documentation
  • Experience requesting vendor feature enhancements
  • Expert understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other regulatory and compliance mandates
  • Experience planning, designing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and managing cybersecurity solution lifecycles
  • Advanced knowledge of security engineering principles, risk management, resilience, vulnerability management, information security, NIST, and MITRE ATT&CK
  • Advanced expertise with DLP, EDR, antivirus, perimeter services, threat systems, cyber-platform analytics, SIEM, CASB, and cloud security
  • Proven cloud security experience
  • Independent judgment, critical decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under complex conditions and balance projects, customer support, and on-call demands
  • Deep knowledge of information technology and information security principles and practices
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences across facilities and organizational levels
  • Ability to mentor less experienced team members
  • Willingness and ability to work variable shifts and respond to after-hours notifications
  • Preferred: certification in two or more of SSCP, HCISPP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP-ISSEP, CEH, SANS GIAC, or CISA
  • Preferred: four plus years as a System Administrator or in IT Operations, or four plus years in healthcare risk management or GRC
  • Preferred: five plus years of healthcare experience or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business, and healthcare experience
