About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Handles incoming requests for referrals for new orders and refills
Verifies requests and referrals, initiates insurance verification, and gathers information necessary for pre-certifications
Builds equipment orders using patient medical record information
Provides verbal and written instructions to patients and families regarding products and services
Data entry of patient intake information into the computer system
Coordinates delivery of requested services and referrals
Facilitates problem-solving with patients, hospitals, providers, and insurance companies
Extensive interaction with internal departments and external sources to coordinate patient services

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
Requires literacy and basic math skills
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Familiarity with hospital operations
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with commonly used office software products
Ability to learn new software applications
Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
