About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Scheduling medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, facility resources, ancillary staff, records, referrals, authorizations, and payers
- Receiving and initiating calls to/from patients, providers, provider offices and facilities
- Providing patients with information and pre/post-test instructions
- Effectively communicating and building impactful relationships through written, digital, and verbal channels
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- 2 years of scheduling experience in a physician’s office or hospital
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with commonly used office software and medical practice management/scheduling software
- Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding (preferred)
- Sound working knowledge of various types of insurance plans and/or worker’s compensation (preferred)
- Bi-lingual in Spanish may be preferred for some assignments
