Registered Nurse, RN – NICU
Banner HealthRegistered Nurse NICU providing specialized care for infants at Banner Ironwood Medical Center. Dynamic department with opportunities to train in Labor and Delivery and other specialties.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As an RN NICU at Banner Ironwood Medical Center, you will have the opportunity to care for infants needing support in a level II nursery environment.
- This includes caring for babies who are 32 weeks gestation and above.
- Our NICU has 6 beds with 4 beds we utilize in a surge area.
- Our average daily census is 3.5 babies per day and growing.
- Our department is dynamic and our NICU RNs are also trained to support and staff our postpartum and normal newborn patients as well attend deliveries alongside our Labor and Delivery team.
- A benefit of our versatile department is that NICU nurses have the opportunity to train to other specialties including Labor and Delivery.
- This role is an assignment based position with a 3 12-hour shift schedule for 6+ months and includes a weekend rotation.
- It is a NIGHT shift position from 6PM to 6:30AM.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- BLS certification is required.
- Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
- Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
- Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
- Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
- Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
