About the role

  • Collaborating within the scope of nursing practice to operationalize visions and strategies of nursing within Banner Health
  • Providing visionary leadership in collaboration with Chief Nursing Officers to optimize nurse and patient/family outcomes
  • Partnering with Chief Nursing Officers to implement and oversee professional practice strategies enhancing clinical nursing care and professional growth of staff
  • Promoting positive outcomes and nursing accountability through nursing peer review and staff empowerment programs
  • Cultivating Shared Leadership, mentoring and facilitating processes
  • Serving as a resource on professional practice and consulting to develop and promote nurses practicing at their full scope
  • Supporting advancement of nurse empowerment, patient care, and quality outcomes at assigned facility
  • Promoting inquiry to optimize nurse and patient/family outcomes through research findings and performance improvement principles
  • Ensuring compliance with ANCC accreditation program criteria as a Primary Nurse Planner, if applicable
  • Providing excellent service experience by demonstrating core and leader behaviors daily

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree with undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum of five years clinical practice leadership experience within a complex, highly matrixed healthcare setting
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Clear understanding of human relations, shared leadership principles, adult learning theories, complex systems principles and basic business principles related to health care delivery in acute care setting
  • Successful track record in design and implementation of new programs
  • Ability to create collaborative working relationships
  • Analytical, problem solving, project management, critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Effective coaching and negotiation skills with strong presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Working knowledge of common office software, along with ability to access, compile, evaluate and use information appropriately
  • Ability to organize and convey information in meaningful ways using a variety of electronic media
  • Ability to learn new technologies and incorporate them appropriately to further workforce development.
