About the role
- Coordinates and facilitates patient billing and collection activities
- Follows patient accounts through the billing process to the payor
- Manages payment processing, adjustments, claims, and correspondence
- Reconciles, balances and pursues account balances and payments
- Builds strong working relationships with hospital departments or provider offices
- Responds to incoming calls and makes outbound calls to resolve billing issues
- Works as a member of the patient financial services team to reduce Accounts Receivable balances
- Uses systems to provide statistical data and communicate with payors
Requirements
- 2 years' experience in Patient Financial Services - Collections and Accounts Receivable
- Revenue Cycle experience in healthcare
- Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and/or Waystar
- Knowledge of patient financial services and common insurance and payor types
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
