About the role

  • Independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients
  • Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians
  • Applies and manages mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians
  • Assembles, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots durable medical equipment
  • Performs patient assessments and evaluates response to care
  • Communicates and collaborates with resource staff
  • May supervise department staff
  • May be assigned to various areas requiring respiratory care

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Current license in state practiced as required by state law
  • Blood Gas Technologist certification in Nevada (if applicable)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Valid drivers license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy for Home Care setting
  • Knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications and equipment
  • Highly effective human relation skills
