About the role
- Independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients
- Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians
- Applies and manages mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians
- Assembles, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots durable medical equipment
- Performs patient assessments and evaluates response to care
- Communicates and collaborates with resource staff
- May supervise department staff
- May be assigned to various areas requiring respiratory care
Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current license in state practiced as required by state law
- Blood Gas Technologist certification in Nevada (if applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Valid drivers license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy for Home Care setting
- Knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications and equipment
- Highly effective human relation skills
