About the role
- Responsible for the interpretation of clinical documentation for the health record(s).
- Ensure quality in the Inpatient Facility Coding department.
- Provide guidance on coding and billing.
- Collaborates on DRG and coding denials to provide coding expertise.
- Acts as a knowledge resource to ancillary clinical departments and revenue integrity analysts.
Requirements
- 5 years of recent experience in acute-care Inpatient facility-based medical coding.
- DRG and PCS Coding, Auditing experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Must be currently certified through AAPC or Ahima.
- Proficiency with ICD Coding and DRG and/or CPT coding principles.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
