About the role

  • Provides system support to departmental application users, troubleshoots system issues and generally ensures the assigned software is able to be used as intended.
  • This may include tasks such as creating functional documentation, reports, training materials and provide training to staff within their area of expertise.
  • Maintains optimal operation of departmental application in partnership with IT or external software vendor, as appropriate.
  • Provides support for application users. This would include troubleshooting for problem scenarios and escalation, as needed, to other internal or external resources to ensure successful resolution.
  • Builds, maintains and prepares documentation and training materials.
  • Performs some analysis of data and may create moderately complex reports.

Requirements

  • Must possess strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in related business discipline to area assigned or computer science.
  • A level of experience as would typically be obtained in 1 to 2 years working with systems or as a functional "super-user" of an application in a similar department environment is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of typical word processing, spreadsheet and/or database applications is required.
  • Good organizational skills, as well as good oral and written communication and human relation skills are required.
