About the role
- Manage the mortgage lending staff in an assigned region for permanent, single family residential loans for sale in the secondary market and retention in the Bank's portfolio.
- Hire and manage staff.
- Ensure loan sales are profitable and have proper documentation to comply with all Seller's Warranties, as well as CRA/HMDA.
- Interact with loan underwriting, review appraisal, and senior department management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science or other related field required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- 8 or more years of experience in mortgage loan origination required
- 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role leading a project, process, or team required
- Proven pattern of success in growing a business, team, or division oriented towards the consistent closing and funding of loans to meet sales goals.
- Knowledge of mortgage procedures, regulations, underwriting, and loan processes and procedures.
- Possess effective presentation, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of current market competition, strategies, trends, and market activity.
- Possess strong leadership and team building skills. Demonstrated training and performance coaching skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to mortgage loan origination.
