About the role

  • Risk management: Establish and maintain a lean risk framework (risk identification, assessment, monitoring) without complex capital planning models
  • Conduct an annual risk inventory and derive simple limits and early-warning indicators
  • Perform simplified stress tests (only material risks, scenario-based) and prepare quarterly risk reports for executive management
  • Outsourcing management: Materiality assessment for each outsourcing (type, scope, complexity, risk content)
  • Maintain an outsourcing register (all outsourcing arrangements, including risk classification)
  • Monitor service providers (SLA/KPI), escalate risks, and prepare for BaFin orders and contingency plans

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training as a bank clerk and/or degree in business administration or completion of the Bank Academy/VWA or equivalent
  • Good IT skills (including MS Office) and a strong affinity for IT
  • Knowledge of WpIG (§ 40, §§ 43–46) and WpI‑MaRisk (AT 4, AT 9, BT 2)
  • Experience in risk management at small institutions (basic processes, reporting, light stress tests)
  • Outsourcing expertise: materiality analysis, contract review, register maintenance
  • Ability to maintain segregation of duties and to collaborate with Compliance/Internal Audit
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and coordination with executive management/regulators
  • Flexibility, high performance orientation and willingness to learn
  • Good self-organization and solution orientation, reliability and creativity
