About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design tools and services within a technical domain to enable business strategies
- Create infrastructure tools and integrate them as services
- Develop templates, playbooks, and automation for technical solution deployment
- Improve efficiency in tool and service implementation and maintenance
- Support IBM System Automation z/OS, Automation NETVIEW, and GDPS-CA toolsets
- Configure, maintain, and support IBM System Automation for z/OS and GDPS-CA technology
- Develop REXX and PIPES programs for automation initiatives
- Write and maintain documentation
- Demonstrate technical leadership as a team member and individual contributor
- Communicate with technical, managerial, and vendor audiences
- Develop technical solution requirements and lead individual or small-team initiatives
- Provide subject matter expertise and consulting on technology solutions
- Assist with translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks
- Evaluate reference models, blueprints, playbooks, and third-party products
- Develop software solutions to address manual, repeatable, or inefficient processes
- Promote an inclusive and healthy working environment and help resolve organizational blockers
- Contribute to functional and non-functional product evaluation requirements
- Participate in on-call support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 7 years’ experience with the Mainframe z/OS operating system
- LPAR experience
- Working Mainframe REXX programming experience
- Solid understanding of PIPES
- Solid experience with IBM System Automation ZOS
- Mainframe z/OS, JCL, TSO, and ISPF knowledge
- Deep knowledge of IBM Utilities, including IEBCOPY and IEBGENER
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables with various time and date deliveries
- Ability to write and maintain documentation
- Ability to work closely with clients to automate processes and solve client issues
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interface with system programmers, application developers, support teams, software vendors, and management staff
- Ability to work with minimum to no supervision
- Ability to participate in after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call support
