About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform complex analysis and modeling to minimize fraud loss exposure and negative customer-experience impacts
- Provide analytical support on fraud strategies and ensure goals are met
- Propose policy and procedural changes within segmentation structures
- Evaluate data to assess potential fraud risk and create mitigation strategies for Digital products including Zelle, Wires, and BillPay
- Create fraud strategies and ensure proper risk controls are deployed according to best practices
- Recommend mitigation efforts and ensure monitoring controls are in place
- Conduct defect reviews of third-party fraud loss cases to identify strategy or procedural gaps
- Track strategy performance and optimize rules on a recurring basis
- Develop and validate fraud variables used in strategies
- Manage projects by providing fraud requirements, testing, and strategy development
- Support network mandates, Product team initiatives, and internal projects
- Produce product performance reports and updates for senior management
- Analyze incoming and loss trends and identify potential problems
- Develop ad hoc reporting and identify process improvements through data analysis
- Deliver accurate fraud and claim activity metrics
- Validate data integrity and quality
- Partner with claims, policy, strategy, and product teams to provide insights for critical decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of fraud experience and/or 2+ years of analytical experience
- Payment card or retail banking background preferred
- Proficient in SAS, SQL, and Excel
- Strong quantitative, critical-thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with executive-level personnel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team
- Innovative mindset and ability to challenge the status quo
- Ability to identify, analyze, and improve processes to meet deadlines
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills
- Basic understanding of first- and third-party fraud
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline is desired
- Python and Tableau experience is a plus
