About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and lead the engineering approach for complex features delivering significant business outcomes

  • Enable teams and applications with CI/CD capabilities
  • Guide teams on design and high-performance coding best practices
  • Deliver complex features and automation for one or multiple teams at program level
  • Conduct research, prototyping, and exploration of new toolsets and components
  • Establish high-level solution needs with stakeholders and technical requirements with architects
  • Work with trading desks, strategists, and quants on production support, requirements gathering, and solution design
  • Supervise and grow eTrading engineering talent

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience as a Lead software engineer building eTrading solutions for market connectivity, price distribution, or RFQ engines
  • Experience building D2D, D2C, and bilateral eTrading connectivity
  • High proficiency in Java/Spring and expertise developing FIX trading solutions
  • Experience supporting production trading systems at L3 level and gathering requirements/designing new solutions with trading desks, strategists, and quants
  • Experience supervising and growing eTrading engineering talent
  • In-depth knowledge of Credit or Rates eTrading workflows and market structure
  • Proficiency debugging and profiling JDK-based languages, including Java, Scala, Kotlin, or Clojure
  • Advanced experience with JDK CI/CD and build toolchains, including Maven, Gradle, SBT, and Jenkins
  • Experience with GraphQL and gRPC modern RPC microservices
  • Proficiency developing in Unix/Linux environments, including shell basics and process/network diagnostics
  • Exposure to monitoring, metrics, and tracing tools such as ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Graphite, OpenTSDB, OpenTrace, and Jaeger
  • Exposure to message-oriented architecture technologies such as ZeroMQ, JMS, AMPS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Google Pub/Sub
  • Exposure to process/container orchestration technologies such as Mesos, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker
  • High proficiency with SQL and NoSQL data stores, including MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB, and HBase
  • Experience with reactive streams and observables, including ReactiveX, Akka Streams, Monix, or Spring Reactor
  • Desired: understanding of machine architecture and C++ or Rust
  • Desired: experience with CQRS architecture
  • Desired: experience with Scala functional or concurrency libraries such as ZIO
