About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and deliver complex requirements to accomplish business goals
- Ensure that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements
- Solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in
- Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices
- Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Automates manual release activities
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years working on Enterprise scale applications developed primarily using Python in a Linux environment
- Enthusiastic, passionate engineer able to work in a multi-faceted role
- Automation first mindset across the software development lifecycle
- Practical experience within an Electronic Trading environment in an investment bank or similar
- Experience with quantitative trading, including analytics in Python or q/kdb+ (desired)
- Experience with C++ and/or Java development (desired)
- Knowledge in architecting applications for Cloud and/or Containerized Environments (desired)
- Practical, hands-on experience with Agile and test-driven development
