About the role
- Ensure care delivered in market assigned hospitals meet industry and Banfield quality standards.
- Partner with Vice Presidents Veterinary Quality and Area Chiefs of Staff ensuring execution of veterinary initiatives.
- Serve as a champion for quality by communicating and driving a culture that is consistent with our quality standards.
- Drive a successful and growing doctor team through recruiting, referrals, and hiring.
- Ensure the delivery of an exceptional onboarding and mentorship experience.
- Consult with operational partners on doctor risk, staffing needs and compensation.
- Develop and lead Area Chiefs of Staff (ACOS) to meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Oversee implementation and auditing of medical quality programs.
- Work with field directors & hospital leaders to ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
- Manage market level medical equipment budget and oversee maintenance of medical equipment.
- Cultivate relationships within the veterinary profession to promote Banfield’s brand reputation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent foreign degree is required.
- Five years practicing in small animal veterinary medicine and surgery practice expertise.
- Two years’ experience in hospital leadership.
- Five years’ experience in multi-location veterinary management.
- An active veterinary license in good standing is required for every state in which they oversee hospitals.
- DEA: Candidate must obtain state-controlled substance and federal DEA within 3 months of employment, unless otherwise required by the state in which working.
- USDA: Accredited by the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
- Residential: All field leaders are required to live in their market/region.
