About the role
- Support the definition and evolution of the Bank’s ESG strategy, with emphasis on climate, decarbonization and sustainable finance.
- Serve as the technical reference for decarbonization solutions, supporting commercial and credit teams in structuring financial solutions aimed at clients’ climate transition.
- Evaluate decarbonization projects, energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy projects, circular economy activities and nature-based solutions.
- Support the structuring of sustainable transactions and products, including climate finance, ESG instruments and solutions linked to emissions reduction targets.
- Support the development and implementation of the Bank’s carbon strategy.
- Assess carbon projects (e.g., carbon credits, REDD+, nature-based solutions), including eligibility criteria, environmental integrity and associated risks.
- Support climate- and ESG-oriented sectoral analyses, including risks, opportunities and transition drivers.
- Assist in defining and monitoring climate and carbon indicators.
- Contribute to ESG and climate reporting (GRI, SASB, TCFD/ISSB), with a focus on climate, carbon and transition.
- Respond to investor requests, audits, ratings and voluntary initiatives related to climate and carbon.
- Act as a technical focal point for internal teams, clients, investors, consultancies and technical partners.
- Support the Bank’s institutional positioning on climate, carbon and the energy transition.
- Contribute to internal capacity building and the dissemination of technical knowledge on decarbonization and carbon.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Geography, or related fields.
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in ESG, Climate Change, Carbon, Sustainable Finance or Environmental Management (strong plus).
- Solid experience in ESG, climate, carbon, sustainability, sustainable finance or specialized consulting.
- Experience with decarbonization projects, carbon initiatives, energy transition or environmental assets.
- Prior experience in financial institutions, capital markets, development banks or consultancies is a differential.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Climate change and decarbonization strategies.
- Carbon markets (regulated and voluntary), carbon credits and environmental integrity.
- Methodologies and standards (GHG Protocol, SBTi, IFRS S1 and S2).
- Familiarity with climate risk as applied to credit and strategy.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; ability to prepare technical analyses and executive-level materials.
- Advanced or fluent English.
